The Law & Order franchise just keeps on ticking. The mothership will launch its 18th Season in January 2008. Special Victims Unit is entering its ninth season. And Criminal Intent will be back for season seven - airing on the USA Network before getting a run on NBC.

The Law & Order Cast Spreadsheet has been my little baby for a long time now - after finding an embryonic version of it online way back when.

Over its eighteen seasons, the original series has had twenty-six different cast members. Eleven in the last four seasons alone - including two new recruits for the coming year: Jeremy Sisto as Detective Cyrus Lupo to partner Detective Green and Linus Roache to play EADA Michael Cutter, taking Sam Waterson's position in the series paradigm... while Waterston's Jack McCoy fills the role of District Attorney.

Law & Order is the longest running series still on air in the Tommy Westphall Universe. The original twenty-six year run of Doctor Who takes the longest-running drama title... at least until we fold in those recent daytime soap opera additions.

Ahem...sorry to start a different topic right away, but there do seem to be some discrepencies in your grid.
For one, why does "K9 & Company" have a different frame than everything else? For another, you put BSG between Angel and Firefly, whereas the Key says that it should go Angel, Firefly, BSG.
One more little thing: The Bill Dana Show in no way spun-off from Make Room for Daddy. I saw that that's what imdb says, but after all, they can be quite inaccurate.

The K9 & Company frame is a mere artifact of changing the excel spreadsheet to a jpeg file. The BSG Firefly Angel thing will be corrected at the next update.

And, yes, it seems that the Bill Dana/Make Room for Daddy connection is wrong. That will happily be removed. Thanks for the heads-up.

All of international versions of The Office...

(Link)

Le Bureau (French Edition)

La Job (French Canadian Edition)

Stromberg (German Edition)

The Office (US Edition)

The Office (Original UK Edition)

Would all these variants be part of one shared universe, or are they just different adaptions of the relatively same plot for different cultures?

Re: All of international versions of The Office...

(Link)

They possibly all share the same universe but there's no direct connections yet. While the British and US versions were supposed to crossover last year, it didn't happen. Both of these shows are connected to Tommy by different means anyway...

I'd love it if somehow they were all pulled in... :-)

Step By Step Episode Featiring John Stamos...

(Link)

Has anyone watched the episode where John Stamos appeared as himself in Step By Step and mentioned his role of Full House? This may possible contradict the crossover that Steve Urkel from Family Matters did with Full House and Step By Step.

I have a possible solution, though. Depending on how detailed John Stamos was about his role, it could be possible that there is a different sitcom called Full House, and that John Stamos also plays an Uncle Jesse on that series. I tried to look for a transcript for that episode, but I came up with nothing.

Apparently Donna Douglas appeared as her Elly May character from the Beverly Hillbillies on an episode of the Super Mario Brothers super show which would bring in one of the funniest kids shows of the late 80's

My Sweet Lord (Marjorie, that is)

(Link)

According to Marjorie Lord's website, it looks like Bill Dana was appearing as Jose Jimenez on 'Make Room For Daddy'. Here's an entry from her episode guide for the show, ninth season:

Season 9

251. For Every Man There's a Woman
guest stars: Bill Dana (Jose Jimenez)
Tonight, comedian Bill Dana appears as his own character creation Jose Jimenez.

aired: 02-Oct-1961

You can find it at:

Belzer Does It Again!

(Link)

On August 5, 2007, Homicide: Links to the Sites reports just another Belzer/Munch appearance on 'The Wire'.

The article (from USAToday) is sparse, just saying that Belzer is filming a 'Wire' episode and has thus his 10th show as John Munch.

And that puts 'The Wire' even more firmly into our ever-growing field.

Let's get greedy: The French PEC would be #11 ...

Link? (The links site is down...)

I've seen this reported in plenty of places - that Belzer will be on the Wire. But are people just assuming it's Munch?

I believe Clark Johnson will also be appearing, but not as his Homicide character.

another newspaper

(Link)

It was recently posted at Toby's site that the newspaper that is usually shown in Heroes is the New York Chronicle which was featured prominently in McCloud

After reading this I did a little research and found out that it was also featured in at lest three other shows, The Patty Duke Show,
The Adventures of Hiram Holliday, and Beverly Hills 90210

Also McCloud had a direct crossover with Galactica 1980 which would bring in the original Battlestar Galactica and the 4 Fernwood shows

Finally do you know what the connection to Quincy ME is, because if it counts Quincy had a direct crossover with a show called B.J. and the Bear which had a spin-off called The Misadventures Of Sheriff Lobo which was later renamed Lobo

New crossover! NBC's Chuck's second episode, within the 4-8 minute mark, mentions Oceanic Flight 815 going down, which is a direct mention to the Lost flight crash...

"Chuck" is in!

(Link)

I'm watching "Chuck" right this minute and they just linked to "Lost"! To see how much info was downloaded into Chuck Bartowski's mind, the CIA and NSA triggered him to spill some of those secrets - one of which was who shot down Oceanic Flight 815!

I think this makes five TV shows with a connection to Oceanic Airways - 'Lost', 'Alias', 'Diagnosis Murder', 'The War At Home', and now 'Chuck'.

Anonymous beat you by six minutes... but, really, well done! I love Tommy and his mind.

Also, didn't you figure "Moonlight" in by the appearance of Hearst College? Veronica Mars is already in.

Two additions in the first two weeks of the new season! Woo-hoo!

HOLD ON!

Where is this link involving Yoyodyne? I have looked everywhere and the only places that include Yoyodyne appearing on The John Larroquette Show are derived from this site. Where are you getting this from!?

Re: HOLD ON!

(Link)

The show made numerous references to Thomas Pynchon's work, which is where the name Yoyodyne was coined. And the bus station the show is set in was built by Yoyodyne. Yoyodyne had moved up in the world by the 25th Century, building starships for Starfleet in Star Trek.

a few more connections

(Link)

First Masked Rider was made from a tokusatsu called Kamen Rider, they later showed other rides from the Japanese show and said that the american one was a descendant of theirs, Kamen Rider also had a crossover with the tokusatsu Ultraman which holds the record for spin-offs according to guinness

On West Wing they mentioned going on Good Morning, Miami

There were actually 2 wonder woman series The New Original Wonder Woman which aired on abc and was set in the 40's and The New Adventures of Wonder Woman which aired on cbs and was set in the 70's

Also because you used Toby's listings instead of mine you missed 4 other soaps that are connected to The Young and the Restless (no offense I get alot of my information from toobworld) Our Private World, Another World, Somerset, and Texas

Finally according to Poobala there is a connection between Medium and Las Vegas and one between Quantum Leap and Tales Of The Gold Monkey

This post is getting really long crossoverman, I think you should create a new journal entry that list the 60 shows, including 7 asian shows, that have entered Tommy's mind since your last post two months ago(I miss the days when you would make a new post for each new show)

congratulations on your first journal with over 50 entries crossoverman

Here is another crossover, Cory Shawn and Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World appeared on the show Maybe This Time

I have a few more connections but seeing as you already have about 100 shows to add to the grid, ranging from Not for Publication to The Outsiders, I think i'll wait for the next update to post them

Speaking of that when do you think that you will post the updated grid

It's been over a week and still no update, whats the hold up, and if you aren't going to update by thanksgiving (that's the 22 for our Australian and German friends, this month really flew by) could you at lest post a preview like what shows are going to be on the grid or at lest how many, also what shows didn't make it and why.

I am excited to see the list and I have connections to about 50 more shows to propose once this update is finished,

I hope you take less then a year to update the grid again, maybe you should try for monthly updates, or at lest monthly live journal post with updates from the last month

Sorry that I originally posted this on your wikipedia talk page crossoverman but live journal would not allow the computer I was on to post

thanks

You listed the L&O spin-offs, but apparently missed two, namely Conviction (Cabot and some judges) and New York Undercover (which has Olivet and Skoda in two episodes).

Belzer confirmed for Wire (ep. 7 of final season)

(Link)

According to this, nymag.com/arts/tv/reviews/42386/ , the Belz will appear in a quick (and possibly unnamed-as-Munch) cameo in the seventh episode of The Wire.

And a Happy New Year for All.

Re: Belzer confirmed for Wire (ep. 7 of final season)

(Link)

I went looking for other news stories about Munch on 'The Wire' and found this from the 11th of December in Liz Smith's column:

Since Page Six noted that people are talking about the diminished appearances of actor Richard Belzer on the long-running hit Law & Order: SVU, fans are mobilizing and questions have multiplied.

What happened between the popular Belzer and his NBC Universal budget-cutting bosses who put him in 22 episodes last year but have now cut him back to 13? Belzer says he doesn't know what happened. He will only say, "It's mystifying to me. And I have to admit my feelings are slightly hurt. But I do feel flattered that my fans miss me!"

Perhaps the addition of Adam Beach as the new partner of Ice-T and the placement of Belzer inside headquarters has something to do with less exposure for Sgt. John Munch.

Law & Order, in all its three manifestations, is omnipotent on the air, appearing about 20 times a week. I never turn on TV, it seems, when one of its versions isn't playing. And the story goes in TV land that the various shows are now making more money than ever.

People come up to Belzer, who is a popular figure in New York and appears at almost any charity that needs him, saying, "We miss you, where are you?" He is especially mobbed in airports across the nation because he travels frequently to the West Coast and to Europe. One of this "tough guy" actors' pet charities is for needy dogs and cats - Huntington, Long Island's Little Shelter Rescue and Adoption Center. He also does work for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Belzer is busy with the 81-year-old Jerry Lewis on a musical version of The Nutty Professor. He also is working on a mystery novel called I Am Not a Cop, in which he will star as himself.

Rumor has it that both of the indispensable stars of L&O: SVU - Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay - were given a hard time during last year's contract negotiations. It looks as if NBC Universal might be out to kill its own golden geese.

As Page Six reported, Belzer is leading in online voting for "Favorite Scene Stealer" in the People's Choice Awards. His defenders seem to be everywhere yelling "Munch forever!" So how will his hardball-playing bosses feel when Belzer wins this particular award on Jan. 8?

Forgive me if it already appeared here......

Hey, jrecently found this site.

(Link)

Not only does Tommy Westphall count live-action TV, but also many other things.

As you probably already know, Superman and Wonder Woman are part of the Tommy Westphall universe. They have met Batman before. Batman has met people like Spider-Man, the Hulk, Scooby-Doo, Judge Dredd, the Predator, Spawn, and many others.

Superman has met the Terminator, who has met Robocop. Superman has also met the Nesquik Rabbit.

Darth Vader and Yoda are in the next Soul Calibur video game. Another installment included Link from Legend of Zelda (which brings in the Super Smash Bros. series and basically every game Nintendo has ever made,s ince they love putting cameos in games) and Spawn, which brings us back to Batman, and the Predator, Scooby-Doo, Judge Dredd, Sherlock Holmes, etc.

Multi-company crossovers are a pain. Look up things like "Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue" and "Dream Mix TV Fighters" and see what I mean.

If we bring in gag cameos, like the kind of things Family Guy does, that'll just be a headache.

I don't want to go into too much details right now, but let me just say this in a nutshell: Not only is TV just a dream, it's pretty safe to say that all of fiction is as well.

Good night. I'm off to a hard nights sleep pondering how in the hell Fraiser, the Terminator, Steve Urkel, Mario, the Daleks, the Nesquik Bunny, Green Lantern, and Scooby-Doo exist all in the same plane, let alone a little boy's head.

a few questions

(Link)

I'm still working on working on my list of shows connected to tommy and I have a few questions about what you count

First if a show goes into syndication under a new name, for instants Badge 714 was just reruns of dragnet would that count as a different show, because of the precedent set by Bob Cummings Show and Love That Bob it should but I wanted to make sure

Secondly if a set that is in a real place is reused would that count as a connection, for instants a lot of shows go to a planets that looks like Vasquez Rocks

Third what about pilot movies that have a character that used to be in another series prominently in it like the Dare Devil pilot The trial of the incredible hulk

Finally what ever happened to that updated grid you said you were working on about three month ago it would be nice to see it even if the key not ready

please post the answers to these questions, and I will continue to look for shows to add to my list of shows connected to tommy's mind which is at 165

thank you
